Recoverly ("the App") is a recovery support application designed to help individuals track their clean time, find support group meetings, and maintain their recovery journey. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Recoverly collects and stores the following types of information locally on your device, only:
Personal Recovery Data
- Clean date and clean time duration
- Gratitude entries and daily reflections (coming soon)
- Custom milestone dates
Contact Information
- Sponsor contact details (name, phone number)
- Recovery network contacts (name, phone number, email)
- Note: This data is only stored locally on your device. You choose what contact information to use from your contacts.
Location Data (Optional)
- Approximate location for retrieving weather information
- Note: Location data is only used when you explicitly use the weathering feature and is not transmitted to us.
Device Permissions
- Contacts: Optional access to autofill sponsor/contact information
- Location: Optional access for weather information
- Phone: Enables direct calling of sponsors and contacts from the app
- Notifications: Optional for meditation timers and service commitment reminders
How We Use Your Information
All data you enter into Recoverly is stored locally on your device and used solely for:
- Calculating and displaying your clean time
- Connecting you with your support network (sponsors, contacts)
- Setting meditation timers and timer-up notifications
Third-Party Services
Open-Meteo Weather Service
- When you use the weather feature, the app queries the Open-Meteo API
- Only location coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo servers
- Open-Meteo does not require an API key or collect user accounts
- Open-Meteo Privacy: https://open-meteo.com/ (free, open-source service)
Dreamcatchers NA Meeting Directory
- The app provides links to external meeting directories hosted at dreamcatchers-na.org
- When you click these links, you are directed to their website for in-person and virtual meeting information
- No data is transmitted from our app to dreamcatchers-na.org

Narcotics Anonymous World Services (NA.org)
- The app provides links to NA.org for access to recovery literature, eBooks, hard copy materials, and free literature
- When you click these links, you are directed to na.org to view or purchase materials
- No data is transmitted from our app to na.org
- Important: This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Narcotics Anonymous World Services. We simply provide links to na.org content as a convenience to users, in accordance with NAWS policies.

- We do not use Google Analytics
- We do not use advertising networks
- We do not use crash reporting services that transmit your data
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
- All personal data is stored in an encrypted local database on your device
- Data is protected by Android's application sandbox security
- No cloud synchronization
Data Retention
- Data is retained on your device until you choose to delete it
- Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all local data
- Clearing app data or uninstalling the app in Android settings will permanently delete all data

- Access: View all your data within the app
- Modify: Edit or update any information at any time
- Delete: Remove individual entries or clear all data
Permission Management
You can control app permissions at any time through your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Apps → Recoverly → Permissions
Opt-Out
- Location: Disable location permission; manually search for meetings instead
- Contacts: Deny contacts access; manually enter contact information
- Notifications: Disable in app settings or Android settings
Children's Privacy
Recoverly is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and on this page. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Data Deletion
How to Delete Your Data
Delete All Data:
- Android: Settings → Apps → Recoverly → Storage → Clear Data
- Or uninstall the app
Permanent Deletion:
- Once deleted, data cannot be recovered
- We do not have copies of your data on any servers
International Users
Recoverly is designed for global use. Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- No data is transferred internationally
- No data residency issues apply
- Local data protection laws of your country apply
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the European Union:
- Consent: You provide explicit consent by granting permissions
- Legitimate Interest: Processing is necessary for app functionality
